You should read this article if you're interested in learning more about the tone2 Gladiator VST or any other related products. This is an introduction to Tone2's Gladiator VST for DAWs. More complex instruments are coming soon. I'll start with an overview of the Gladiator VST. Tone2 Gladiator VST Overview & Features Over the years, Tone2 has delivered award-winning virtual instruments for Mac and PC. The Gladiator VST takes control of your MIDI keyboard using a simple control interface that lets you create fat, lush sounds that are characteristic of the Gladiator brand. You can use polyphonic aftertouch to bend or vibrato pads. The "Reverb" feature also lets you simulate vintage reverb, giving your musical touch an authentic look and feel. The Gladiator VST's internal effects section offers several effects for emulating vintage audio equipment like spring reverbs, compressors and more. The Gladiator VST in Action After installing the Gladiator VST, open up your DAW. I'm going to show you how to use the Gladiator VST with Ableton Live 9, but the process is the same with every DAW. Before you begin using the Gladiator VST, go ahead and load up one of the included instrument patches. To do this, go to "Effects" > "Tone2 Gladiator". Next, choose one of the three presets located in the dropdown menu labeled "Plate." Of course, you can create your own sounds by adjusting each parameter. The controls are fairly straightforward. You have volume and panning for each layer or waveform type. There's also a dropdown menu for the different waveforms. These waveforms will appear as colored lines on each layer, which you can adjust by moving up or down to give your Gladiator VST a unique look and sound. The tone2 Gladiator VST includes four different harmonic waves, giving your music a warm vintage vibe. The waves are: Sine, Sawtooth, Triangle and Delta Waves. The "Delta" feature is new to Tone2 products. It delivers a unique brand of audio that can be difficult to explain, but it's easy to explain its sound with one word: "fat". Delta Waves deliver warm layers of harmonics that deepen the overall sound of your music. For more on Tone2's unique diagonal delta wave harmonics, check out this video: "Tone2 Gladiator VST - New Sound" The tone2 Gladiator VST's harmonic waves emulate the sound of vintage audio gear. To get its fat, warm tone, Tone2 uses a proprietary algorithm to process the Sine wave with a unique set of harmonic waves. This gives the Gladiator VST its distinctive sound. In traditional EQ, you find an equalizer frequency band that's centered around 200Hz. Of course, many of us have our own preferences for EQ bands which are located around 250Hz or 400Hz. The Tone2 Gladiator VST delivers a layer of harmonics that sits just below these frequencies. cfa1e77820
